FLORIDA ORANGE MERINGUE PIE


FLORIDA ORANGE MERINGUE PIE
- Three Quarter (3/4) cup of sugar
- Five (5) tablespoons of cornstarch
- Half (1/2) teaspoon of salt
- One (1) cup of cream substitute (coffee creamer) plus 1 cup water
- Three (3) egg yolks, beaten
- Half (1/2) cup of fresh Florida orange juice
- One (1) cup of Florida orange sections, cit into pieces
- Two (2) tablespoons of Florida orange rinds
- Two (2) tablespoons of Lemon juice
- Two (2) tablespoons of butter
- One (1) nine (9) inch pie shell, bakedMERINGUE
- Three (3) egg whites
- Six (6) tablespoons of sugar
- Quarter (1/4) teaspoon cream of tartar

FLORIDA ORANGE MERINGUE PIE PREPARATION:
Combine sugar, cornstarch, salt. Add milk gradually and cook over low, heat until thick and clear, about 6 minutes stirring constantly.Add beaten egg yolks and cook over low heat 6 minutes longer continuing to stir. Remove from heat; add orange juice and butter. Cool. Pour into pastry shell.Top with meringue; bake at 400 degrees F until golden
